about

This album is a combination of several elements that would perhaps not normally find themselves in company with one another. I Sing As I Journey and The Land Where Living Waters Flow are both old gospel numbers that I first heard from The Payne Family Quartet, recorded sometime in the 1950s. Leave it There is a Charles A. Tindley composition that I heard from a recording of Jepson and Donaldson. Baltimore Fire comes from the late great Charlie Poole. Guitar Stomp was first recorded byacclaimed piano player Walter Roland. One for Kanui is a variation on Pue Carnation, a recording by Hawaiian duo Kanui and Lula, who made several recordings in the 1930’s.The rest of this album is my own writing, improvisation, and sonic experimentation.

Guitar, fiddle, field recordings, organ, bottle cap belt, wind chimes, banjo, lap steel, samples- Andy McLeod
